Warren County probate records can involve estates of deceased persons, wills, guardianships, conservatorships, trusts, and proceedings involving incapacitated or disabled adults or minors. A probate file may show petitions, notices, orders, letters, inventories, accountings, claims, and closing entries. Some of those papers are public, while medical, financial, minor-child, mental-health, and protected-person information may be closed or redacted. The Public Administrator is a related office when appointed in a case, but it is not the probate clerk.

Conservatorship

A case asking the court to appoint someone to manage money or property for a protected person.

Letters

Search Warren County Probate Records

The first online search channel is Case.net. Search by case number if it is known, or by litigant/name if the case number is unknown. Probate searches often work best with the decedent's or protected person's name, but older matters may not appear online. A missing result does not prove there is no probate file, especially for older estates or files with restricted access.

1. Identify whether the matter is an estate, will, guardianship, conservatorship, trust, or mental-health-related case.
2. Search Case.net by case number or by the name tied to the probate matter.
3. If no public result appears, call the Circuit Clerk at 636-456-3363 for older files or access limits.
4. For copies, ask whether a plain copy, certified copy, or judge's order is required.
5. For filing requirements, use current Missouri court forms and local Circuit Clerk instructions.

Probate users sometimes also need recorded land or marriage documents. Those records are with the Recorder of Deeds, not the Probate Division. The distinction matters because the Recorder's genealogy and index books can help with old land and marriage research, while estate case files remain court records.

Estate administration and bankruptcy can both involve debt and property, but they are different record systems. Warren County probate copy requests should not be sent to the federal bankruptcy clerk unless the actual case is a bankruptcy matter.
